On June 30th, 2017, the Minister of Sport and Youth Hrachya Rostomyan received a delegation of the Kyokushin Karate Federation of Armenia led by President Andranik Hakobyan. Taking into account the work done and significant achievements, the leadership of the Ministry of Sport and Youth decided to take this sport under its jurisdiction. By the way, Kyokushin karate is the first oriental sport, which is included in the list of sports officially supported by the state. The Kyokushin Karate Federation of Armenia was founded in 2005. Taking part in different international tournaments, our karatekers won 112 gold, 91 silver and 109 bronze medals in total, which is quite a high figure. Under the leadership of the Kyokushin Karate Federation of Armenia, we train more than 3,000 athletes in all regions of Armenia and in Artsakh. President of Kyokushin Karate Federation of Armenia Andranik Hakobyan assured that everything possible and impossible will be done to justify the hopes and expectations of both the Ministry and fans of this sport. By the way, already in 2018 in April in Yerevan starts the European Championship in Kyokushin Karate, and in October 28, the Armenian Championship starts.
